Lately it seems like reading has been measured in minutes throughout the day rather than having time to sit down and devour an entire book from start to finish. There are some days if I get 25 pages read that is a reason to cheer! Other days can sit down and speed through 100+ pages without taking a break, but those days are getting fewer and farther between thanks to my newly revived interest in "cooking from scratch". Our garden efforts have allowed me to experiment with the vegetables produced, however that experimenting comes at the price of taking more time as the harvest/cleaning/preparing and cooking take much longer than opening up a can to heat up the contents in the microwave.

USED BROCCOLI FRESH FROM OUR GARDEN TO MAKE!
I am however pleased that we have managed entire meals for months without resorting to using packaged foods. The fresh taste and the combination of ingredients in these vegetarian dishes have been a delight to our palates.
(Of course than all the other chores that do not allow me to sit and read also have to be taken care of as well but at least they do not involve standing for hours to prepare a meal that is finished in 15 minutes!)
[Since actually writing this post things have changed again. As a result of having to spend more and more time with the gathering, sorting, prepping for storage and actual put up time of the vegetables we are harvesting along with other regular time bandits am going to take a bit of a hiatus in the month of July again. There will be a few blog hop giveaways and even a blog tour promo for Shiloh Walker coming up later on in the month but no reviews until August.]
BTW, before anyone mentions audiobooks, please do not bother, I hate to be read to so for me they are
not an option.
