In 2011 my challenges were set up in anticipation of finishing both of them with ease. I have to admit that the Labor Day wildfire put a kink in that plan for my challenge of reading books already on my shelves as half of the books burned so that challenge is a failure. However my goodreads challenge was met and well exceeded as a lot of my books were e-copies on my Kindle, both review books and books that I had gotten either free or bought to read as the authors were ones that I have followed from regular books to their e-reads.

there were 82 books on this challenge and I got to read only 45 of them or 54% prior to September 4th wildfire that burned up the rest of the books.
2011 goodreads challenge was completed as read my 200 total plus 94 more, even though they say it was only 284 total my read in 2011 shelf says 294 total. Equaled out to 142%. Not sure why the difference in opinion on the same site!
2012 my challenge is for 300 books, so far by the time this posts will have read about 5% or 15 or more books. Wish me luck!
What about you, how did your reading challenges for last year work out? Fail or complete? How about this year, what are you going for in total numbers to read?

O so sorry to read about the wildfire that destroyed your house! Ebooks really are an advantage that way. I know my books are insured, but most of them are out of print, so won't be replaced if something happens.
That sure is a big challenge, good luck in making it!
Insurance only covered the brand new books 100%, the rest were more or less 50 cents on the dollar as had lots of used and older books on my shelves that already read years back.
300 for some people is 4 or 5 months reading, for myself it will be doable if do not get sidetracked from reading too much every day.
Wow! 300 books, that's crazy! I wish I could squeeze that many in during the year. I'm so jealous. Thanks for stopping by!
My WOW
300 is a drop in the bucket to some readers, however my family which includes my 2 cats and my dog take lots of time as does my social sites and my household chores so that will be my limit to stop at for reading challenge. It also includes short novellas of 100 pages or less so since lots of Kindle freebies it will be a target that I can probably hit by October if I am lucky as I am slowing down on review books for the next 3 months or so and reading my own books off my Kindle and my book shelves which I have somewhat restocked since losing all my books with our house back in September 2011 wildfires in Central Texas.
Carmel it was great to see your WOW today, I am also sad that Alice Borchardt passed away as her 3 Legends of the Wolf books were fantastic reads and it is great that I had a chance to enjoy them years ago.
I failed the 2011 challenge by 3 books. :( It was not the best of years for me, but 2012 is going to be SO much better! I set the challenge at 100 books for the year, but I hope to pass that. :)
Nissie good luck, so far 2012 have read a lit of my digital books and a few for review but have a long list on my TBR shelf that plan on tackling this year and looking forward to them all!
