My Thoughts
Tamed by a Highlander just like the rest of the books written by author Paula Quinn is a passionate tale. A story about two people who at times you want to beat over the head so they would just get it together and let the past be just that, the past. For those who enjoy conflicted love stories filled with the ultimate in political maneuverings and set during a period of history that is both romantic and intriguing, to say the least, this is going to be one to put on the keeper shelf.
Mairi is a 22 year old headstrong highland woman who never forgot or forgave her first love Connor Grant when he picked his duty to England and the service of his King over her love 7 years before. Reunited again all these years later the two are at odds with each other but at the same time cannot ignore the attraction that never died.
Reading this book was a history lesson, a lesson that love and lust are intertwined, a lesson that no matter how well you think you know someone there are still things about them to be learned and most of all this is a story of forgiveness and fulfilling a destiny that will not be denied!
Readers of Highlander based Historical Romance who enjoy political intrigue and following the twists and turns that occur when two strong willed people try to understand each other after years of feeling like they no longer have anything in common will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next.
Being that this is the 3rd book in the series and the 8th book by the author following the MacGregors, the Grants and the Stuarts there are some people who say this can be read as a stand alone. Having read all of Paula's books I do not say that, if you do not read the entire set starting with Lord of Desire and then following with the books in order #2 Lord of Temptation #3 Lord of Seduction then #1 in MacGregor series Laird of the Mist #2 A Highlander Never Surrenders followed by books in Children of The Mist series starting with #1 Ravished by a Highlander #2 Seduced by a Highlander and then #3 Tamed by a Highlander you will miss out on so much of each families back story and most likely will be confused at times. At the very least you need to read books 1 and 2 of The Children of The Mist series before reading Tamed by a Highlander.
