Since first email contact and blog post I read have followed Maria on Facebook, Twitter, Blog and Goodreads and enjoyed her humor and her wonderful stories... Now I have the pleasure to introduce you to two of the "men" in her life and one of the most fun guest posts you will ever get to read that introduces the next book

Last year, during my blog tour for True Believers, my dog Tank snagged an interview on my behalf. Iko, his baby brother has felt bummed out ever since.
When he heard Jackie had invited me on her blog, he INSISTED he be allowed to handle the interview. After all, he was older now and has since graduated with top honors. (He even has the mortarboard to prove it.)
What could I do but allow Professor Iko to broker this interview. So if Jackie doesn’t mind, I’ll let Iko—er, I mean, Professor Iko field questions.

Jackie: Tell us a little about Maria. What kind of dog mommy is she?
Professor Iko: Mom is really nice. She adopted me when I was only a baby. I was very scared, but as soon as she held me in her arms, I knew I had found a home.

Jackie: We heard there was some unfortunate business with furniture being chewed. Would you care to elaborate on that?
Professor Iko: All I can say is that I’m innocent! I was under a lot of stress and the leather furniture was very tasty. I didn’t know it was expensive. (Sorry, mom!)
Jackie: Do you have a permanent staff position in your author-mom’s retinue?
Professor Iko: Absolutely! Because of my super-dog hearing and eyesight, mom relies on me to warn her of scorpions. I hate scorpions! They’ve stung me a couple of times when I was little. Now I hunt them every chance I get. It’s war, baby!
Jackie: What do you know about your mom’s new book, Apocalypse Rising?
Professor Iko: It took her a long time to finish it. Tank tells me she rewrote it twice until she was happy with it. Mom is very picky about plots and characters. Sometimes she reads her work aloud to me and asks my opinion. I liked it…but I might be a little biased.
Jackie: Can you tell us what Apocalypse Rising is about?
Professor Iko: Ooh! It’s about time travel and demons. Leda and Grey escape to the past, but it just makes things worse. There’s a demon after Leda, and worse than that, she has to share Grey with another woman. Mom was really clacking the keys on those scenes!
Jackie: What’s next for your mom?
Professor Iko: She’s been writing like crazy, so I wouldn’t be surprised if you hear about a new book soon. But I’m really worried about her other project. Mom has been threatening us with a baby sister.
Please, Jackie, you gotta talk her out of it. If we get another dog, then I won’t be the baby anymore. Can you help a dog out? :wags tail: I’m very cute, you know.
Jackie: I’ll see what I can do, but before I let you go, I have one last question. Is it true that you’re the brains of the operation and that Maria couldn’t write her stories without you?
Professor Iko: Well, I don’t want to brag—
Tank: Then don’t.
Professor Iko: Hey, this is my interview!
Tank: Not anymore. Mom says it’s bed time.
Professor Iko: But I’m not sleepy.
Tank: Fine. More bed for me. I’ll get your cookie too.
Professor Iko: Umm…sorry, Jackie. Gotta go.

Bio: Maria Zannini used to save the world from bad advertising, but now she spends her time wrangling chickens, and fighting for a piece of the bed against dogs of epic proportions. Occasionally, she writes novels.

Apocalypse Rising: The only place to hide was in the past. Leda and Grey have one chance to escape a madman and that’s through a portal to a time before the apocalypse. But nothing has prepared them for 21st century culture, and every misstep draws them closer to the End Times. The world is teetering on extinction, and they may very well be the cause of it.
