He Is Every Woman's Fantasy...
Darkly handsome and sensual, Lord Brand Risande--known as "The Passionate"--is temptation incarnate. But his prowess on the battlefield and in the bedchamber hides a bitter secret: the betrayal that has sealed his heart. Now as this most feared warrior rides out to possess the lands he has won in war, he engages his most formidable enemy ever.
Lady Brynnafar Dumont is prepared to do anything to protect her people--even seduce the savage Norman knight who defeated her father. Prepared to face down a cold-blooded beast, she instead confronts a wickedly attractive scoundrel who wants nothing to do with her. It's enough to sting a lady's pride...and strengthen her resolve. Innocent as she is, now she must use all her charms to defeat Lord Brand in the only battle worth fighting--the one for his love.
Lord of Desire by

I have finally had the pleasure of reading every historical romance written by author
Paula Quinn . This copy came to me in brand new condition from Paperback Swap last month and I held on to it as my
Christmas read and it was well worth the wait!
Personally I love to immerse myself in Historical/Political Romance reads and this one did not disappoint me!
The story of Lord Brand Risande and Lady Brynnafar Dumont takes place in 1064-1065 and is one that has been told before but this one had the added spice in the addition of King Edward and William The Conquerer as very critical 2ndry characters..
Brand conquered her father Lord Richard Dumont in battle and has been awarded their Castle Avarloch, its surrounding holdings and the people who inhabit it are now in his care.
King Edward has decreed that once Brand takes over his new abode that he must marry Brynna, and to make sure that he does he enlists the aid of Duke William of Normandy who is not only Brand's oldest dearest friend but his leige lord as well!
The marriage takes place, the pair finally start working through their differences only to have Brand's worst nightmare show up in person in the form of the very woman who betrayed his love with his best friend and who caused him to shut his heart off from loving anyone ever again!
The mixture of romance, political intrigue, mystery, action and personal drama made for a very interesting read for me. After waiting almost a year to get my hands on the book I devoured it in one day and smiled and groaned with frustration and enjoyed every page of the stories journey, especially the spirited interchanges between Brynna and William! The books twists and turns were well thought out and executed in a manner guaranteed to leave the reading wanting more until all the plots were woven together at the end. The main question of whether Lady Brynna can heal the heart of Lord Brand and bring him back to his former life loving self is one that you will have to read the story for yourself to find out.. Suffice to say that once you do the author will make you want to read more of her adventures!
After spending many hours now with the books written by Paula Quinn in 2010 her work has become my newest romance addiction, the characters are well written and the plots are never dull!
