E-READERS VS PAPERBACKS/ GUEST POST WITH NATASHA

Today I have one of my online friends from Canada treating us to a guest post with her and her cat Cova, welcome Natasha from "A Great Book Is The Cheapest Vacation"!

First off, I wanted to thank Jackie for having me today. I love Housewife Blues and Chihuahua Stories.I visit often, as everyone should and I’m an animal lover myself, (you can see my baby Cova in the photo  with me) so I’m always happy to see more of her “kids”. :)

On to the guest post..

This seems to be the year of the e-Readers. I work at Coles book Store, and I can tell you, we sold out of our Kobo's a number of times before Christmas.

I thought of buying one myself, but still haven't made the leap. I know it's preferred for many, but not me. Yes, I'd love one when travelling, taking the bus, and anywhere away from home. But I can't help but love the feeling of laying in bed with the pillows piled up behind me, my kitty at my side and a paperback book in my hand. Yes, I can do that with a e-Reader just as easy but for me there's something about a physical book, that I feel I can get more attached to the story, not to mention the additional beautiful cover art.

Everyone that reads my blog knows I'm a sucker for cover art. I'm a collector of books and graphic novels, and what makes me re-read them is seeing them on my shelves and going "Oh yeah, that one was awesome." And picking it up and reading it again.

There are pros and cons for both paperback's and an e-reader, so I can't tell you which is better. I'm just really, expressing my thoughts of both.

Now I'm not saying that I won't buy a e-reader, I'd love one actually, because I plan on travelling a few times in the near future, and dragging books along just doesn't seem accommodating. I don't have anything against an e-reader, I think they are a great addition to the literature world. I just think we need more of a physical connection to the authors novels, then just another click.

I cordially invite everyone to head over to "A Great Book Is The Cheapest Vacation" to visit with Natasha on her blog... When she says she loves books that is no lie, the covers on her posts have grown my TBR Shelves over the last year to huge proportions!
