Do you use a rating system for your reviews and if so, what is it and why?

I use my Bouncing Chihuahuas for rating books. 1 Chi if not something would recommend to anyone else all the way up to 5 Chi's if the book was something I just could not put down!
Why do I use Chihuahuas? The name of the blog is of course Housewife Blues and Chihuahua Stories which came from being home with a very cute and fun little Chi and it grew from a place to share pictures and stories of my "lap-brat" to a place to share my love of books!

My last hop was almost a month back to only a few places as my husband decided that was the weekend we were going "cold turkey" on Internet and getting away from home on weekends ! Now that I have more time again I am back hopping:

As always it is a fun time to go to the linky and check out whether can find some new blogs to hop to. I also find lots of interesting info on each hop about my fellow book lovers. For instance while my main love is the Paranormal and Urban Fantasy book genres my summer reading this year has contained quite a few Historical and Contemporary Romance reads. I am rekindling my love of this type of reading because it is always faster and easier than my shifters and vampires and other go bump in the night books. The world building is generally quite easy to follow along with and since the main characters are all human also faster reading in the long run... Just a nice change of pace when on a steady diet of PNR and UF or Mystery Suspense Thrillers which are slightly more "heavy" reading picks for summer, at least for me.....On that note hit the blue button above the post if you are a US resident and try and win Margaret Mallory's "All The King's Men" trilogy while you are here on the blog!

I can honestly say that this is a good Friday again as it has been a pleasant week here at our house. 
Though temps during the day hover in the low 100's with the heat index it has been nice in the mornings and late evenings as the season is slowly turning to fall which means not much in Texas other than cool fronts and Holidays!
My best reason for feeling good though is my book Wishes from Paperback Swap are finally coming to fruition on some of my series, this makes me happy as have waited on some of the books for many months now to be posted and sent to me once I asked for them!!!

And this beauty too,  all books in almost new condition....
Yesterday in the afternoon I got an even nicer surprise than books in the mail, my neighbor had not one but two fawn's come eat corn with their Mama Deer and the little rascals were not very old because they both had spotted coats still!
I love living in the forest with the wild life!
