Katie Salinger has spent most of her adult life looking for the next big adrenaline rush. But the extreme-sports journalist faces her greatest challenge when she returns to Lone Oak, Kansas...and meets the attractive, secretive doctor who's intent on buying her beloved family home. Ever since he returned from Africa, Dr. Noah Fletcher has been haunted by a tragic loss. His hometown thinks he's a hero, including Katie, the risk taker, who's determined to uncover all his secrets. Noah can't deny their mutual attraction. But he also can't let her close. Because the last time he fell in love, it almost killed him.
This is the story of Katie and Noah, two people coping with tragic losses in their past. Two people who cannot be more different on the surface who find that without taking a chance on love and each other that life is just not the same!
The story is one of hope and heartache, triumph and loss. In creating this little tale in the Salinger Sisters story line the author has interwoven Katie's story with pieces of the 2ndry stories of sisters Savannah and Lindsey and also a bit about her father and her new stepmother Claudia. In doing so we get  a glimpse into Katie's past and the loss of her mother which for fifteen long years has driven her from one adrenaline rush to another.
Having moved home on hiatus from her job with "Rush" magazine due to breaking her wrist Katie is living in her family home with her father and step-mother. In the time there she is out roller blading and breaks loose stitches in her chin from another prior injury, making a trip to the local family doctor's office a necessity. While there she meets young Doctor Noah Fletcher son of her family physician who has also moved home to Lone Oaks Kansas following a stint in Africa where he was part of a medical team... Noah experiences a personal loss that has shut him down emotionally and caused his life to narrow to work and nothing else...
In the beginning the young doctor wants nothing more than to keep a professional relationship with Katie until he realizes that it will not be possible. The two become closer and closer and find that despite their best intentions that falling in love has happened without their meaning too..
The reality of life intrudes once Katie is pronounced healed of all her injuries and she is able to return to her old life and her job... The funny thing is that old life and job no longer appeal. The same light dawns on Noah when he realizes that without Katie the sunshine is dull and his life is empty and lonely...
Author Amy Knupp has written a truly lovely and compelling story of finding that what we think we want changes and what we get might not always be what is best for us in the long run. Family, friends and love are the only important things in life and everything else can be worked out!
I look forward to getting my hands on the rest of the Salinger family books.....

The Talking Tom IPhone App.....

I have a question for you, how many of you are IPhone Users?

video

How many of you have the Talking Tom App or something like it that you waste time playing with? My Husband has an IPhone and when he discovered this "freebie app" he of course loaded it and has made each of our pets a short "inside joke" video...

I guess you can say that with the ability to buy more expensive "toys" we do not gain the ability to actually "grow up"!
