AS OF FEBRUARY 2012 WILL NO LONGER BE POSTING SUNDAY, MONDAY OR FRIDAYS UNLESS FOR A BLOG TOUR, GIVEAWAY HOP OR AUTHOR GUEST POST THAT I DO NOT HAVE TO MONITOR COMMENTS FOR.

As of January 2012 will not be taking any more new book review requests until later in May of 2012. My on again off again Kindle access is becoming a problem with reading my ebooks by the date I have them contracted for finishing and setting up the review posts.

Thank you for considering me but will be happy to do author/book promo posts with openings starting in February of 2012. I will be happy to help anyone who writes in the genres that I enjoy reading and those include Historical or Contemporary Romance, Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy, Mystery Suspense Thrillers or Young Adult and any combination of these genres in one book.

Also looking ahead to my blogoversary celebration in April which will be a month of weekly giveaway posts that will all be international entry allowed. So stick around!

Happy Easter 2010!!! Part 1

Everybody wants to be the Easter bunny!!

Waiting on Wednesday (March 31)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating. This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

Nauti and Wild’s release date has changed. It will now release on August 3rd, 2010 so my calendar is now marked in red....
Not only does it contain one of Jaci Burton's  Wild Riders books, the totally awesomely talented Lora Leigh has one of her incredibly rockin’ Nauti stories in this book, so it’ll be worth the wait, right? :giggle:

I am new to reading  Jaci Burton's work and have never  read her Wild Riders series or Lora Leigh's Nauti series, this book however calls to me to buy it and if I really like this one look into getting the rest..... {The Biker Bad Boy on the cover is probably what drew me in to try these series LOL)

This book blurb does not hurt either, check it out:

You’ve seen them. Looking for trouble, and looking irresistible, riding into town, straddling 73 cubic inches of throbbing horsepower.
Boys so bad it takes a special kind of woman to satisfy them.
But some women are made for high speed handling…
Lora Leigh, the New York Times bestselling author of Nauti Intentions and Nauti Dreams revisits that sultry and “sinfully good”* Southern landscape with a story of a good girl gone bad--and doing it for all the hottest reasons. But she’s not the only one going down that road…
Jaci Burton, the national bestselling author of Riding Wildand Riding Temptation, lets loose in a story of a hot biker hired to keep an eye on the reckless daughter of a Nevada senator. She’s hooked up with a rival biker gang--a dangerous move that makes the wild beauty more vulnerable than she imagined…

Teaser Tuesdays (March 30)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB ofShould Be Reading.  TEASER TUESDAYS  link...

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

Grab your current read.
Let the book fall open to a random page.
Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12. {or in my case more}
You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you have given!

Please avoid spoilers!

My Teaser today 3/23/2010 is from "The Blonde Samurai" By Jina Bacarr

Chapter 1 page 1

Did I take part in these wild imaginings? Or are they merely tales fabricated by a besotted male scribbler to sell his stories and make his fortune? You be the judge as you continue to read, and I hope you will, for pages and pages of erotic delight await you.

Caterina Shaw's days are numbered. Her only chance for survival is a highly experimental gene treatment-a risk she willingly takes. But now Caterina barely recognizes herself. She has new, terrifying powers, an exotic, arresting body-and she's been accused of a savage murder, sending her on the run.

Mick Carrera is a mercenary and an expert at capturing elusive, clever prey. Yet the woman he's hunting down is far from the vicious killer he's been told to expect: Caterina is wounded, vulnerable, and a startling mystery of medical science. Even more, she's a beautiful woman whose innocent sensuality tempts Mick to show her exactly how thrilling pleasure can be. The heat that builds between them is irresistible, but surrendering to it could kill them both . . . for a dangerous group is plotting its next move using Caterina as its deadly pawn.

Favorite Short & Dead- On Funny You Tube Impressions

Once again siting home with the DH on my computer playing with You Tube. He loves to find all kinds of interesting things and some of the favorites we both love to watch include old cartoons, stand up comics telling jokes and funny stories, our bands and singers we grew up listening to, magic tricks, people playing instruments (mostly guitar) and of course people doing impersonations and impressions of others. You would be amazed at the amount of these out there, hard for me to believe some of the actors who can nail other people by doing impressions of them.. Very cool!!

First off we have Matt Damon who if you close your eyes you would swear is Matt McConaughey speaking!!

The 2nd one is a young Jim Carrey doing James Stewart...

These are only a couple of shorts the people out there who can do wonderful impersonations and impressions is pretty much mind boggling. There are some really wonderful videos with Dana Carvey and others that are way too long unless you just have lots of time to sit through the whole skit....

This is one of my DH favorite things to look up and watch on You Tube, old skits of people doing impersonations and impressions. It is always amazing to the 2 of us how truly talented people are at these, some of our faves are Clint Eastwood, James Stewart, Katherine Hepburn, George W Bush, Chrstopher Walken and Al Pacino.
Who are your favorites  that people impersonate or do impressions of? Who are your favorite Impersonators/Impressionists?

Unlaced Anthology / "The Ties That Bind"

Having read the 3rd story of the 4 first, started back at the books beginning with "The Ties That Bind" by Jaci Burton the next day. The story features a very unique family situation of 2 divorced parents of an 18 year-old just graduated daughter, unique in the fact that Mom and Dad are still good friends and live down the street from each other in the same Florida town.
(If I did not know better would maybe think it was based on Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, they have more than one daughter of course and neither of them fit the characters created by Ms. Burton anyway.)
The story starts with friends and family gathered around the table as little miss Kayla prepares for her summer vacation in Europe and she and her Mom's best friend are talking Lisa the mom into taking some vacation time...

SPOILERS This is where we come to my favorite part of the story as Lisa gets to her destination which turns out to be a palatial Hotel and checks in much to her surprise and delight ending up in the Presidential Suite. The phone rings and she is informed by her best friend that she will not arrive until the next day to join her on the vacation, she also informs her she has a dinner date for the evening with a "friend of a friend"!
To Lisa's bewildered surprise the "friend" turns out to be ex husband Rick. This is where we come to the title "The Ties That Bind", we explore along with Lisa all the reasons why she and Rick after almost 20 years apart have still not moved on and remarried other people.
Among the of course obvious reasons is an explosive chemistry that people in their teens would envy! These 2 in their grown up 30's however are also very aware of each other in ways that teens are not, they after all have had a prior relationship and it makes it both harder and easier to reconnect.
I laughed and sighed and was very moved by the way in the end it all worked out with Lisa and Rick. Sometimes what is right in front of us we take for granted the most. True caring and compassion for a lifetime triumphs the youthful passions and petty problems that arise when people first come together young. There is no greater joy for me than reading this HEA written about 2 characters that I rooted for from the beginning, they never stopped loving each other despite Divorce and separation of house holds.
In Jaci Burton's lovely world, True Love conquered all and hopefully someone somewhere out there today will pick up this book and find the way back to that special someone and get their 2nd chance too! SPOILERS

Okay rubbing my hands with glee 2 stories left to read....

Morgan Kingsley, a kick-ass exorcist, can deal with Lugh, the super-sexy demon living inside her, but does he have to moan softly during her intimate moments with her mortal lover? Understandably, Brian is reluctant to share the pleasures of Morgan's flesh with a gorgeous rogue from the Demon Realm.

But personal matters will have to wait when the opportunistic owner of The Seven Deadlies demon club in Philadelphia enlists Morgan's help in heading off a crisis: It seems that demons have started showing up at the hot spot in alarming numbers and in the unwilling bodies of rough trade club-goers. Morgan is sure that Dougal, Lugh's sworn enemy, is behind this, but why? Bodyguard Celia Graves plies her trade in a world where vampires roam the alleys of Tinseltown and movie stars openly practice witchcraft., where streetcorner psychics have real powers and cops use memory enhancement spells on witnesses. Though she’s an ordinary human, Celia uses street smarts and charmed weapons to protect the rich and famous from mortal and supernatural threats.

She’s landed a plum job, protecting the Prince of a small but politically vital nation while he tours Los Angeles’s least savory hot spots. What should be a routine assignment goes badly wrong. Attacked by a master vampire, Celia knows she is about to die.

She’s startled to awaken on a cold metal table in a university lab. Celia Graves has become an Abomination, neither fully mortal nor fully vampire. Her “master” is hunting her, to destroy her or finish what his bite began. She’s accused of murder and the cops aren’t sure whether she should be locked up or staked. And then there’s the demon she glimpsed during the vampire attack . . . .
Struggling to cope with her new powers and trying not to terrify everyone she meets with a flash of fang, Celia reaches out for help from her once (and future?) lover, who is a powerful mage; his warrior-priest brother; a handsome werewolf who keeps his lupine nature concealed from the world; an elderly clairvoyant, and one trustworthy cop.

Celia Graves has three days to save the world, her sanity, and her soul.

Feel Good Friday Meme (March 26,2010)

This weekly meme is hosted by  The Girl Next Door Grows Up .
On Fridays you write about something that is good. Something someone nice did for you, make a list of five good things, or write about something nice you did for someone else. There are five prompts that have been provided by the "Girl Next Door". You should try it, it's kind of fun to write about positive things, even though it's hard to find something positive sometimes.

For My Very First post on this wanted to share something I have loved to read since found it in my teens, my favorite Poem written very long ago but it just resonates deeply with me and hope with you too:

ATTITUDE

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on my life.  Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.  It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.  It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill.  It will make or break a company, a church, a home.  The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.  We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.  We cannot change the inevitable.  The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.  I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.  And so it is with you.  We are in charge of our attitudes.

                                   ---Charles Swindell

Four mistresses of erotic romance unleash their most irresistibly dangerous fantasies in this sensational anthology of lust and lingerie…

So many delicious surprises under a corset…Such fine exquisite lace. Such warm soft leather. Such a nice tight fit. Such impressive boning. Here are four all-new stories from four hot authors that erotica fans will find irresistible…

I have to start off by saying that on a whim I bought this lovely book from Abooktrader.com for maybe $2. I got a lot more than I bargained for when went to the story "Controlled Response" by Joey W. Hill. I have not read anything like this story in quite some time, think maybe need to not wait so long in between reading a little erotica now and then. I was drawn in and mesmerized by the pictures painted by the author, the subject matter being risque never even bothered me as reading alone with no one else around to notice if my breathing changed or my pulse started to tick in my neck...
I am someone who does not normally try to put down on paper how reading something makes me feel, this story made me feel feminine, it made me want to be Cassandra and have my own Lucas take me to the sensual heights described so eloquently by Ms. Hill.
I am getting a new appreciation for why men read "girlie magazines". We females read our own version in books like these and in doing so if we are married and still in good standing with our spouses and admit to the arousal created by reading such a book there is a very definite possibility that somewhere between starting a short story like this one or at the end of reading it that spouse is going to be a very lucky man.
They should also be very grateful that the books rely on our imagination without having detailed illustrations or graphic photographs, it allows us full liberty of placing ourselves in the role of the lead female character and our SO in the willing role of the male character.
Tonight in a short span of time my mind was taken on a journey of Dominance and Submission that was done tastefully, artfully and very pleasantly while allowing full access in the readers mind to a world that we may never indulge in except by the written word. Bondage and all that the word brings to mind does not entice me, the way it was used and the way it was described by the author were very explicit and detailed but in a manner that did not offend but rather engaged the reader into the story and at the end brought a satisfactory conclusion to a very different type of "Romance Book".
